About the Fellowship

The Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship, Uganda, implemented by Hive Colab in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, supports high-impact, growth-stage EdTech ventures to build sustainable and scalable education enterprises. The Fellowship strengthens ventures’ business models, improves the quality and relevance of their digital learning products, and expands access to quality, inclusive and learner-centred education.

Selected ventures receive a catalytic milestone-based, equity-free grant, alongside a 12-month fellowship programme combining tailored business support, weekly mentorship and coaching, learning science and inclusive product design, market access, investment readiness and technical assistance.

Ventures also receive up to 24 months of post-acceleration support focused on growth, market access, fundraising and long-term sustainability.

Who Should Apply?

The Fellowship is seeking locally founded and locally led EdTech ventures at the early revenue, growth, or scaling stage, with a working product and demonstrated market traction.

Applicants should have a clear education-focused solution, a committed team, and the potential to scale their reach and impact, particularly among underserved learners.

Priority will be given to ventures serving underserved communities and demonstrating strong potential for sustainable growth, inclusive product design and meaningful learning impact.
